This exercise not only helps in proper circulation of blood but also improves memory, power of concentration, and determination and will power. As a result of long inactivity the blood circulation gets slowed down and toxins collect in the joints producing various diseases.

Pranayama Technique:

  • Sitting down in Padmasana, cross the arms and crossing them on the chest hold the right toe with the right hand and the left toe with the left hand.
  • All the involved muscles should be kept tense all this while.
  • Perform a deep poorak through the left nostril and retain breath and perform kumbhak.
  • Then perform rechak through the right nostril.
  • Now perform a long poorak through the right nostril followed by kumbhak.
  • Now perform rechak through the left nostril.
  • This completes one cycle.
  • The whole exercise has to be performed many times. Care should be taken to alternately change the poorak and rechak every time.
