Yoga Positions and Yoga Exercises - Vrischikasana

Vrischikasana Benefits: This yoga asana makes the muscles of the hands and arms strong and increase their capacity for hard work. It makes the wrists and palms stronger. It is beneficial for all disorders of abdomen. It helps in better organic functioning. Helps cure the genito-uterine disorders. Helps make the spine flexible and elastic. It makes the entire body sprightly and keeps laziness away. It increases the intellectual power. It makes the body shapely.

Caution: This is also a difficult yoga asana. It is advisable to practice Chakrasana first as it will ease out the practice of this asana. It is advisable to practice Shirshasana and Utthita Shirshasana properly before attempting this yoga asana.

Yoga Positions and Yoga Exercises - Vrischikasana Technique:

  1. Keep the hands and elbows on the feet and let the entire weight of the body rest on the hands.
  2. Raise the hips, and bending the legs at the knees take the hips towards the back and place the toes on the head.
  3. Raise the head as high as the body can take it.
  4. The complete posture is attained when the soles can be placed on the head.
  5. Support of a person or a wall can be taken initially while attempting this asana.
