Yoga Positions and Yoga Exercises - Utkatasana or Chair Pose

Utkatasana or Chair Pose Benefits: This yoga asana is used for the purification of the rectum and colon through a process called Basti. It is something similar to taking an enema.

Yoga Positions and Yoga Exercises - Utkatasana or Chair Pose Technique:

  1. Sitting with the legs stretched out raise the knees.
  2. The feet are kept at a distance of nine inches or more to support the whole body.
  3. Then the hips are raised and kept on the heels.
  4. The heels are also raised at the same time so that the weight of the entire body is balanced on the toes.
  5. This is an asana which is used to do the purification process of the colon called Basti.
