Yoga Poses and Yoga Postures - Ushtrasana

Ushtrasana Benefits: This yoga asana is similar in benefits to D hanurasana, but the stretch is more in the abdomen, waist, shoulders, neck and throat.

Yoga Poses and Yoga Postures - Ushtrasana Technique:

  1. Sitting in Vajrasana, the hips are raised making the thighs straight so that the weight of the body rests on the knees.
  2. Keeping the distance between the knees one foot or more, the trunk is bent backwards, head is lowered and hands are kept on the heels.
  3. Care has to be taken to keep the thighs straight.
  4. Maintain for as long as possible starting with thirty seconds.
