Yoga Poses and Yoga Positions - Pranasana

Pranasana Benefits: This yoga asana makes the heart very strong and cures many ailments of the heart. It makes the nerves and muscles of the lower limbs strong. It especially strengthens the knees. It also makes the lungs very strong, thus helping the respiratory system.

Yoga Poses and Yoga Positions - Pranasana Technique:

  1. Sitting on the seat stretch the legs out.
  2. Raising the left foot place the toe under the right arm, keeping the left knee touching the ground.
  3. Keeping the toe on the ground bend the other knee by raising it up.
  4. Insert the right arm below the right knee. Place the right hand through the toes below the sole.
  5. Perform kumbhak in the above posture.
  6. Repeat with reversing the hands and legs position.

The alternate method of performing Pranasana is as follows:

  1. Stretching both feet while sitting, raise the left foot and place it on the right hip joint.
  2. Bend the right foot and place it on the side of the chest.
  3. The right armpit should fit on the right knee.
  4. Place the palm under the right sole.
  5. Perform kumbhak in this position.
  6. Maintain position and reverse the sides and perform kumbhak.
