Yoga Asanas or Poses - Baddha Padmasana

Baddha Padmasana Benefits: It is beneficial for backaches or backpain and lumbago, helps in strengthening muscles of the limbs, develops the muscles of the shoulder . All benefits of Padmasana and Utthita Padmasana can be had from this asana too.

Yoga Asanas or Poses - Baddha Padmasana Technique:

  1. Sit as in Padmasana.
  2. The heels of the feet should touch the abdomen.
  3. Taking the right hand behind the back catch the big toe of the right foot with the fore finger and middle finger of the right hand.
  4. Similarly catch the big toe of the left foot with the fore finger and middle finger of the left hand, taking the left hand behind the back.
  5. Fix the gaze at the tip of the nose.
  6. Maintain posture for one minute initially. Increase duration to thirty minutes gradually.
