Yummy evening snacks for your kids

We all know that children loves everything what’s bad for their health. Right? Aren’t we as parents struggling hard to provide our children with healthy snack choices to stop them for going towards junk fast food? Don’t loose heart. Just become little smarter than your kids by evoking your creativity to sneak in health into their favorite snacks. Do you know that Children eat with their eyes on, so concentrate on the presentation part? Here are some yummy evening snacks that you can prepare for your tiny tots.

Hommous sandwich

Ingredients:

2 whole wheat bread slices, 1 cup chickpeas, half lemon juice, hommous (a paste of chickpeas and olive oil, a cup of assorted vegetables slices (carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions; all peeled and chopped/shredded), a spoonful of sesame paste, salt and black pepper as per taste

Method:

Make a hommous paste in the blender combining boiled chickpeas, a spoonful of olive oil and sesame seed paste with half a lemon juice. Now use this hommous as a spread on the whole wheat bread slices and provide the shredded veggies as a crunchy and colorful filling. After season with salt and black pepper Trust me; your children won’t be able to beat this tangy sandwich in terms of both nutrition and taste.

Munchy bhel

Ingredients:

2 cups of Crisp puffed rice, 2 cups of finely chopped assorted vegetables (boiled potatoes, onions, cucumber, and tomatoes),1 cup of some roasted ‘papri’and ½ cup ‘daal sev’, 3tbsp roasted peanuts,3 tbsp nutritious sprouts, dash of lemon. Salt according to the taste and coriander chutney or ketchup

Method:

Toss in all the ingredients together in a bowl; add a dollop of ketchup or chutney as per your taste. Serve on a paper plate with a bamboo spoon. Your children will love this lip-smacking snack.
