Ways to Teach a Child to Share
You must have noticed many times that children become extremely selfish and refuse to share anything with others. However, it is necessary for you as a parent to teach your child the importance of sharing.
If you have two kids, you must have often noticed that your one child refuses to share his things, be it a simple pen, with his sibling. This nature is not a healthy one and you must take steps to help your child acquire the social and moral value of sharing.
First of all, you must remember that your child will not automatically understand the importance of sharing. Thus, it is important for you to make him aware of the social and moral implications of sharing.
You can give live examples, read fables to the child, and also make him watch healthy television shows and movies that encourage the child to start believing in sharing. You can also read him spiritual and religious books that underscore the importance of sharing.
You should encourage your siblings to play together with a single toy as that will help them to understand the importance of sharing. This way they will also build up a strong bond.
Also, if your child is too attached with a particular thing, then you must not force him to share that thing with others. Every time forcing your child to share too is not desirable as that can make the child aggressive, angry, and upset.
As mentioned above, you should encourage your child to share things and you can accomplish that by building up a healthy, sharing atmosphere at home. You must praise your child whenever he shares so that he feels he has done something good.
Follow the above given tips to make your child understand and value the importance of the quality of sharing.
