Ways to Prevent Skin from Environmental Pollution
Everyday we hear news of drastic changes in environmental conditions due to growing levels of pollution. This pollution has harmful effects on the health of our body and also on our skin’s health.
If your skin is exposed to harmful UV rays and environmental pollution, then there are chances of premature wrinkling and sagging of skin along with other skin problems. Given below are some ways by which you can prevent your skin from the harmful effects of environmental pollution.
When you skin is exposed to smoke, chemicals and environmental pollution, the levels of free radicals are increased in the body which in turn adversely affect the health of your skin.
To counter this problem, you should include a diet that is rich in antioxidants as they help in preventing the formation of free radicals in the body. Thus, you should include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet that are endowed with antioxidant properties. Provide your body with important vitamins like A, C and E. Also, drink plenty of water as that eliminates most of the problems related with skin.
Seeing the growing amount of pollution in the world, there are various creams available that provide protection form such harmful pollutants. You can try them out. Also, stay away from smokers as passive smoking too can adversely affect your skin’s health.
Protect your skin from sun’s harmful radiations by applying sunscreen creams and staying indoors. During cold weather, avoid staying in an overtly heated room as that can sap your skin from moisture, leaving it dry.
You can place a bowl of water in the room to prevent excessive drying. Like summers when you protect your skin from sun, you also need to protect your skin from harsh and cold winds of winter.
Follow the above tips to protect your skin from the harmful effects of environmental changes and pollution.
