Ways To Make Journey Smooth For Your Kids

January 28, 2009

Hey people, does your child get irritated with the idea of traveling? Well if the answer to the above question is yes, then don’t panic, here are some tips that will help you to make his her journey safer and smoother

If you are traveling by car, set a good example for your child. Always wear a seatbelt and ask him or her to do the same. If your child is below 13 years of age you shouldn’t allow him or her to sit on the front seat.

It is very easy for children to get restless during the journey. Keep them busy by pointing out interesting sights along the way. You can carry the CD of their favorite songs. You can also prepare them in advance by asking them activities or games that they would like to play while travelling.

It’s good to stop for loo breaks during the journey. However, do not leave your child all by himself or herself in the car when you are out of it.

If you are traveling by train, never let your child out of sight. Remember when the children are not supervised properly; they can wander way into different compartments. Their fascination to explore the train out of curiosity might make them move around different compartments. But remember if due care is not taken, they might get lost in process. Avoid sleeping in train if there is no one around to take care of your child.

Pack healthier snack items for your child, it will work as another way of keeping your child busy while traveling in train. You can carry items like carrot stick, salted nuts, fruits etc.

If your child is a music lover, take i-pod or walk-man with yourself, so that he or she can pass out some time enjoyably.
