Ways to Cover Up Stretch Marks

February 7, 2009

Are the ugly stretch lines and marks restricting you from wearing clothes of your choice? Many women suffer from the problem of stretch marks which are caused primarily when the body suddenly gains weight and stretches a lot.

This is most common during pregnancy and in overweight people. The excessive stretching of skin leads to breakage of collagen thereby leading to the appearance of stretch marks. Given below are some ways by which you can hide or effectively cover up your stretch marks.

While it is a desire of every woman to get rid of ugly stretch marks by various treatments including laser treatments and use of cosmetic creams, there are instances when the stretch mark refuses to budge. In such a case, you need to be aware of some techniques by which you can hide your marks. Clothing plays an important role here.

Choose clothes which look smart on you but are also able to cover the ugly marks on your body. Thus, you need to change your style and fashion according to the needs of your body while keeping in mind the appearance of stretch marks.

There are times when you want to wear your favorite dresses but are unable to do so due to the glaring visibility of these marks. You can use cosmetics and makeup products like concealers and foundations to hide and cover up stretch marks. Self-tanners are also helpful.

Additionally, it has been found that application of Vitamin E creams help in lightening stretch marks, eventually leading to their disappearance. Also, apply oil and moisturizers on the affected skin and massage it to increase blood circulation. Massaging the marks with shea butter can prove beneficial.

Since getting rid of stretch marks is a tough ask, you should try to prevent it. Also, use the given methods to effectively conceal and cover up your stretch marks the easy way.
