Spinach is a green vegetable which must be eaten by everyone due to its numerous health benefits. It teems with important nutrients, such as foliate, vitamin E and lutein, to keep your body strong and healthy. Not to forget, it is also considered to be a good source of fiber, calcium, folic acid and vitamin K. If you are confused as to how you can cook and eat it in a healthy way, this article will help you out. Read ahead and find out about various different ways of eating spinach.

When buying spinach, you should inspect its leaves before buying it. The leaves should be large and full without any tears and holes. Preferably, go in for spinach with fresh green leaves. Before cooking spinach, you should thoroughly wash it. You can also add 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice to clean your spinach more thoroughly. Since, this vegetable has a reputation of being slightly dirtier than others, it is necessary to wash it properly before consuming. Spinach can be eaten raw in the form of salad and also as toppings of various dishes. However, if you need to cook them, then after thoroughly washing them, you need to drain them and chop them.

To chop spinach leaves, you need to grab a handful, roll it together and then chop it. You can then cook them by simply boiling them or by putting the spinach leaves into a hot skillet. In another pan, you can put some oil, and then add little of garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for a few seconds and then add cooked spinach. You can add lemon juice to it too and finally your spinach would be ready for consumption. You can eat spinach in various forms and also in the form of soups to leverage its numerous benefits.
