Warning Signs of Stress
We all have heard of how stress can slowly snatch health and happiness from your life. But do you know that if you can understand your body’s early warning signs of stress, then you can prevent this problem from growing further? Our mind and body always display certain symptoms and it is for us to understand them and take proactive preventive actions.
Stress can be caused by a number of factors, be it physical, emotional, personal, or professional. Whatever be the reason, stress needs to be prevented and treated on time as stress can otherwise lead to numerous problems like cardiovascular ailments, high blood pressure and other related problems. Often we wait for the symptoms to erupt and the problem to become big enough before taking any action. However, our body always displays some warning signs and symptoms of stress and it is our responsibility to pay heed to such important warning signs.
Lack of energy and fatigue are some common signs of your body getting stressed. It begins with general weakness and fatigue and slowly progresses to frequent headaches, neck pains, and gastrointestinal problems. You can prevent the latter symptoms from occurring by attending to the initial warning calls of your body.
Early signs of stress also include emotional and psychological signs. For instance, frequent mood swings, bouts of anger and emotional outbursts, difficulty making and taking decisions, general confusion and lack of clarity, extreme swinging of emotions and lack of self esteem are all warning signs of stress.
Along with the above given signs, the person in stress also faces changes in eating habits and also sometimes there is an unexplained weight loss or gain. Additionally, change in sleep patterns is also associated with stress. If you are feeling suicidal feelings and a tendency towards substance abuse, then you must seek medical help as that implies higher stage of stress.
