Varicose Veins
Varicose Veins is a disease which leads to gnarled and enlarged veins. This problem basically affects one’s lower portion consisting of legs and ankles as the veins in these regions are more under pressure due to one’s standing and walking positions. It is often mistaken to be a cosmetic problem but Varicose Veins is a disease which generally refers to the veins which become abnormally thick and enlarged. Though not fatal, this disease can lead to further complications like blood clots and ruptured veins which need immediate medication.
It has been found that more women than men face the problem of Varicose Veins. This can be in turn attributed to long hours of standing which generally occurs in a woman’s life along with other factors like obesity, pregnancy, hormonal changes and heredity factors. In this condition, veins lose their ability to push blood upwards to the heart which in turn leads to the settling of blood in certain areas of the veins.
There are various injections and surgical methods available for the treatment of Varicose Veins but one should opt for natural preventive methods to remain fit and healthy. The natural preventive methods include keeping one’s weight down as obesity is one of the major factor which contributes to this disease.
Moreover, brisk walks and jogs are helpful in strengthening the veins of the leg. One should also wear support hose especially during pregnancy and should avoid prolonged standing hours. The diet of people suffering from Varicose Veins should consist of fiber rich foods like chapattis, whole wheat bread, vegetables and fruits. In addition, salt intake should be reduced from one’s diet. Moreover, one should take regular health precautions like avoiding smoking and alcohol. A healthy lifestyle is the perfect natural remedy from staying away from various diseases including that of Varicose Veins. Surgery can be used to remove Varicose Veins if they cause pain but natural remedies are the best ways as they help without hurting as they don’t lead to any side effects.
