Uses of Gooseberries
A sweet and delicious fruit, gooseberries is used in a variety of dishes, like in the preparation of gooseberry jams and jelly. Additionally, gooseberries are high in nutritional value as they are a good source of Vitamin C, fiber and potassium. Thus, they are also used for their nutritional value and for medicinal purposes.

With gooseberry intake, one can keep one’s blood pressure in check and can also enhance the overall immune system of the body. Research has also linked anti-cancerous properties with gooseberries.

While we all buy various kinds of jams and pickles from the markets, we can also make some delicious dishes at home with gooseberries. You must have noticed your grandmothers making gooseberry jams and jellies. They are not difficult. Here is a simple way by which you can use gooseberry for a tasty jam preparation.
To make a gooseberry jam, you first need to boil the gooseberries in boiling water and then add sugar to it. After addition of sugar, you need to stir it well while boiling it for about 10 to 20 minutes depending upon the quantity you take. Then, cool it and chill it for a homemade nutritious jam.
