Understanding Fatigue
Fatigue is a common problem which many people experience. Fatigue refers to a condition in which your body feels tired and weak and lacks energy to perform even daily tasks.
While we all feel fatigued sometimes in life, there are people who suffer from chronic fatigue. It is thus necessary that you be aware of the underlying cause of fatigue so that you can overcome this problem in an effective way.
Most people feel weak and fatigued when they overwork their mind and body. Taking excessive physical and emotional stress and strain; burning the midnight oil on a continuous basis and not getting adequate sleep are some of the common factors responsible for fatigue.
When a person is emotionally low and depressed, then the energy levels of the person come down and he starts suffering from fatigue.
Along with the above given factors, there are also some underlying medical problems that can lead to fatigue. These include problems like anemia, Addison’s disease, arthritis, kidney problems, and various others.
Thus, if you find yourself fatigued and weak for a prolonged time, then you must get a checkup done to find out the underlying cause of your fatigue.
Sleep is extremely important for healthy living.
However, other than stress and depression, there are also certain medical problems that can disrupt your sleep and in turn lead to fatigue. These include sleep associated problems like sleep apnea and insomnia.
In addition, you should also avoid excessive alcohol intake or cigarette smoking as they too can cause fatigue.
After having looked at the various causes of fatigue, let’s look at some major symptoms that are displayed by a fatigued person. A fatigued person will show symptoms like general weakness, tiredness and he will feel exhausted most of the time, even without doing any physical activity. Many people suffering from fatigue also display symptoms like palpitations or shortness of breath.
It is thus necessary to understand the symptoms and causes of fatigue to overcome it.
