Traveling during pregnancy? Just take care of the following.
If you use little bit of your common sense, traveling during pregnancy can be a pleasurable experience for you rather than an inconvenience. Believe it traveling during pregnancy is no problem at all; just keep the following guidelines in your mind.
First and foremost make sure you check with your caregiver whether some special healthcare concerns have to be looked for which can prevent you from traveling outside area.
Try to plan out your trips in your second trimester. This is because in the second trimester you are at the greatest comfort level during your whole pregnancy period.
While traveling, make sure you walk around often to improve the blood circulation and reduce swelling.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing
Take time to eat regular and nutritious meals. You can take along light snacks and juices to prevent the hunger and decrease your chances of suffering from nausea. Make sure you eat plenty of high fiber foods to ease the problem of constipation.
Don’t forget to get yourself usual amount of sleep, and rest often, elevating your feet.
If you traveling far from home, don’t forget to take a copy of your medical record and get the name of your doctor or facility where you could go for treatment if any need arises.
If you traveling by car make sure that you do not ride for more than six hours a day. Stop every one to two hour to walk round. Ensure that you always wear a seat belt not only for your safety but also for your yet to born baby.
If you traveling by air, sit in an aisle seat for greatest comfort. Wear layers of clothing so that you can adjust as the cabin temperature changes. Also make sure that you drink plenty of fluids.
