Tips To Beat Morning Sickness
Morning sickness is a common problem associated with pregnancy which usually begins in the fifth to seventh week of pregnancy. Unlike its name, this problem is not linked with only day time as it can happen at any time of the day. Usually caused by swings in blood sugar levels which tend to be lowest in the morning, and due to hormonal changes, morning sickness is a problem which can be triggered by various factors. These generally include smells and odor, fatigue, certain greasy or spicy foods, accumulated acid in body and can also be triggered by bright, glaring lights. Morning sickness in pregnant women is characterized by nausea, vomiting and retching. Most symptoms of this problem go away after few weeks but if the symptoms are prolonged or severe, then one should consult a doctor to avoid any complication.
It is always better to adopt a natural and safe remedy to these problems in place of heavy medications. Following the given natural remedies, one can get relief from the various symptoms of morning sickness. The first natural remedy which has found to be quite effective in the treatment of this problem is the eating of small but frequent meals which are high in protein and fiber. Avoid fatty or spicy foods as they take longer to be digested. Taking rest does not imply you are weak or sick. Don’t be ashamed of taking small and frequent naps whenever you feel nauseated. There is an acupressure band- popularly known as morning sickness band- which is quite effective in controlling the symptoms of nausea and fatigue. Keeping some light snacks near your bed and munching them before you get up in the morning is a good way of settling the stomach. Sip water throughout the day to keep the body hydrated but do not indulge in heavy intake of water in one go as that can add to nausea. Getting some mild exercise, some natural air and avoiding triggers which lead to morning sickness are other natural ways of keeping yourself healthy during your pregnancy days.
