Tips for glowing skin

July 10, 2008

Achieving a radiant and glowing skin is not a tough thing. What’s needed is that you pay equal importance to your diet chart i.e. your eating habits and systematic workout pattern.

It is very important that you inculcate vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Such food stuffs contain rich fiber content which helps in flushing out body toxins. They are also highly rich in vitamin B that helps in regulating your body metabolic functions.

Eating citrus fruits like oranges, sweet lime, grape fruits, guava and amla helps in formation of collagen that provides elasticity to skin. Always remember citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C.

For preventing the skin from getting damaged from both external as well as internal factors, make sure you eat melons, cucumbers, pumpkins seeds and nuts.

If you want to add shine to your skin, take flax seeds in either raw or roasted form, along with sea food, apples and green leafy vegetables as they provide you omega 3 fatty acids.

It is important that you drink at least eight to ten glasses of water per day

Yoga too helps in attaining glow on face. Sarvangasan, shirshasana, followed by yoga mudra and meditation, if done regularly for thirty minute can perk your skin.

Indulge into some vigorous exercises like running and brisk walking that causes you to sweat. Remember sweating is very much important for your body as it flushes out the toxins.

External application of aloe Vera gel after bath gives you fruitful effects in attaining the glow on your skin.

Paste of spirulina clay can also be applied on the exposed portions as this helps in protecting the skin from the harmful UV rays of sun. Wash this pack after 45 minutes and pat dry.

Paste of lemon juice and tomato pulp can also be used for the same purpose.
