Tips for a Safe Diwali
The festival of lights, prosperity and happiness is here. A major festival of Hindus, diwali is celebrated by everyone with a spirit of togetherness. It acts as a binding force in bringing people together. Right from a small child to an old man, everyone loves to celebrate this festival of lights by lighting up their houses, following prayers, eating sweets, meeting people and not to forget- bursting crackers. However, you need to follow certain tips to ensure that your diwali remains safe and without any unwanted accidents.
With the approaching of diwali, the entire surrounding gets lighted up and there are cracker shows everywhere. However, you need to ensure certain safety tips to have a safe and happy diwali. Crackers are not only bad for the environment de to its addition to pollution, but it is also bad for your health due to the amount of smoke emitted by it. It can trigger off cough, allergies and asthma. Thus, enjoy diwali but keep cracker bursting to the minimum. Moreover, before bursting fire crackers look for an open space and ensure there are no combustible and inflammatory things around. Avoid bursting fireworks on roads. Never leave small children alone as they should be escorted and should be particularly kept away from the bursting area.
While igniting aerial fire works like rockets ensure that they are not facing any opening like an open window, door or an open building which may cause fire accidents. Also do not get over excited and overtly bold and daring. Always follow distance and precaution while dealing with crackers. On diwali, never wear nylon or synthetic clothes as they can easily catch fire. Wear cotton ones to remain on a safer side. Last but not the least, always be prepared for accidents and thus keep a bucket of water and first aid kit ready.
