Thinking what affects your metabolism
We all know that metabolism refers to the breakdown of food and its transformation into energy needed by the body.
It’s the rate at which our body burns calories to get energy to work. So whether we are drinking, sleeping, or cleaning, our body is constantly burning calories to keep us going.
Always keep in mind that good metabolism is conducive to all functions of the body; it doesn’t just translate into weight loss. Dysfunctional metabolism, on the other hand, puts extra load on the heart and blood pressure, proving to be fatal in long run.
here on one hand, good metabolism makes you feel energetic, boosts your digestion system and ensures right blood circulation, on the other hand bad metabolism can make you appear low in energy levels and cause ailments like obesity, high cholesterol, blood pressure etc.
so it is very important to you to know about the different factors that can affect your metabolism rate. Some of such factors are mentioned below in the article- have a look!
Always keep in mind that the higher your body temperature, the more will be your BMR. This is only reason that you tend to lose weight when you are bogged down by fever. Likewise, the sauna baths and steam claim to help you to lose weight.
Do you know that the amount of muscles tissues also affects your metabolism? That is why the athlete with firm muscles have high BMR, as compared to a non- athlete.
Always keep in mind that the proper functioning of thyroid gland that produces thyroid- hormone that helps regulate BMR- is vital for proper metabolism. If the hormone secretion is not normal, it can lead to a disturbed metabolism.
As we age, our metabolism tends to go low. After you hit 25, metabolism declines by two percent every 10 years.
