The Spa Effect
The treatments provided by spa are gaining a growing importance among women and from being a thing of luxury, it is slowly becoming a thing of necessity. Women find it the best way to get oneself pampered and adorned and along with relaxing one’s body, spa massages also have some health benefits attached with them. The popular spa treatments include massage, facials and body treatments like salt glows and body wraps.
Getting a spa done might seem a form of self indulgence but when analyzed, it shows that along with being a form of beauty treatment, spa massages also have health benefits attached with them.
Spa treatments can be seen as a part of wellness routine as they help in maintaining physical, emotional and psychological well being of a person. It helps in calming down the nervous system thereby promoting a sense of relaxation by reducing tension and anxiety. Moreover, a spa massage helps in relieving muscle cramps and pain along with improving the blood circulation of one’s body. It also stimulates the lymphatic system and it has been found that massage therapy can be used to treat conditions such as arthritis, sciatica and muscle cramps.
Along with body massage, body treatments like salt glow and body wraps are also popular at spa. Body treatments aim at cleansing and hydrating the skin of one’s body just like the facial which is performed on the face’s skin. Salt glow is a kind of body treatment which aims at exfoliating one’s skin thereby making it soft and silky. Another type of body treatment is that of body wrap which uses algae, seaweed, mud or clay to help the body get rid of toxins through metabolic stimulation.
Spas thus aim at pampering and relaxing oneself in the daily struggle of this world along with providing some preventive and curative treatments. Its main emphasis is on relaxation and rejuvenation which is provided through its different forms of facials, massages, beauty treatments along with some specialized trimming and body firming treatments.
