Symptoms of Tuberculosis
You must have often noticed many people staying away from a person who coughs a lot due to fear of acquiring Tuberculosis. This is because tuberculosis or T.B., as it is popularly known as, is an infectious disease which spreads through sneezes and coughs. Moreover, coughing is one of the prime symptoms associated with this problem. It is a chronic disease, mostly affecting the lungs of a person. Like any other disease, it is important to recognize its symptoms on time for a timely treatment.
Here are some symptoms associated with tuberculosis. As mentioned before, tuberculosis is a problem which infects the lungs and thus, the symptoms too are somewhere connected with lungs only. Persistent cough and sneezes is one such symptom which is often mistaken with common cold associated with weather change. However, if you have a persistent cough, then you must get yourself checked. Additionally, in tuberculosis, you might produce discolored sputum with cough.
There are various other symptoms associated with the problem of T.B. These include night sweating and even chills, fever which lasts for a long time. However, it is not necessary than you have high fever. You might experience low grade fever with general fatigue and tiredness. People with tuberculosis also tend to lose weight without any prime reason. Also, there is a loss of appetite and the affected person loses desire in eating.
Chest pain and shortness of breath are some other key symptoms associated with tuberculosis. While these symptoms can also be associated with other problems, it is always advisable to get it checked on time. Most people only get it checked when they see significant symptoms like spitting up of blood or sharp shooting pain in chest. However, it is essential to get your symptoms checked on time for remaining healthy and fit.
