strokesymptomsWhen certain parts of your brain are suddenly deprived of oxygen and blood supply, then it leads to a stroke. Rupturing of an artery responsible for carrying blood to the brain or a cerebral hemorrhage can lead to a stroke. Stroke can lead to symptoms ranging from minor to severe.

The person affected can suffer from paralysis of certain parts of his body or paralysis of one side of the body itself. It can also lead to other symptoms like numbness, breathing difficulties, speech problems, weakening of muscles, especially those of the face and a severe stroke can even be fatal.

While a stroke occurs suddenly, it is to be known that the risk of strokes develops over a period of time. High blood pressure and high cholesterol are the main culprits. The risk of stroke also increases if you are diabetic or if you have a family history of stroke. Alcohol use and bleeding disorders are certain other factors that can increase your chances of suffering from a stroke.

Recognizing the symptoms of stroke and taking timely action is imperative to prevent unwanted consequences. There are certain symptoms mentioned here which must be paid heed to as they depict that the person might have suffered from a stroke. These symptoms include drowsiness, unconsciousness, difficulty speaking and swallowing, nausea, feeling of numbness and tingling, loss of balance, headaches, and decreased or affected vision amongst others.

Strokes affect certain parts of the brain and thus the symptom a person displays depends upon the part of brain that is affected. Along with these, the above mentioned symptoms are some of the common symptoms that can accompany a stroke.

In case you or your near one displays any of the above mentioned symptoms, then you must seek immediate medical care so as to prevent the stroke from aggravating and leading to severe consequences.
