Symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a widely heard of problem which affects the colon or the large intestine. It is primarily caused due to increased stress and anxiety levels in the body and certain food items too can trigger it. Also, this problem is more prevalent in women than men. Given below are some common symptoms associated with the problem of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
If you are suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, then you might experience a teasing pain in different parts of your abdomen which often comes and goes at frequent intervals. This pain can be severe too and can lead to spasms and cramps in the abdomen and colon region. Usually, the pain subsides after stools.
A common symptom of Irritable Bowel Syndrome is that of bloating and acidity. People suffering from this problem often complain of excessive gas and wind in their body. This bloating and acidity is also responsible for the abdominal pain a person experiences. Also, excessive bloating can lead to other problems like heartburns and belching.
As the name suggest, Irritable Bowel Syndrome leads to problems in stools. Some people can suffer from constipation, while others can display symptoms of diarrhea.
Such people often have a feeling of fullness in the rectum and they face an urgency to pass stools. Usually, this urgency is felt after eating breakfast or early in the morning. Also, the stools of such people undergo many changes in their appearance as the stools can become small, watery, and can also have mucus mixed in them.
Along with the above symptoms, Irritable Bowel Syndrome can also display symptoms like nausea, pain in head or back and also affect the healthy appetite of the person.
Thus, if you experience any of the above symptoms, then you must get yourself checked for Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
