Symptoms of Anemia

anemiaAnemia is a common problem which affects women more than men. It is a problem in which there is a dip in the level of hemoglobin in the body, making the person feel fatigued and weak.

Excessive bleeding and blood loss, folic acid and Vitamin B12 deficiency in the body are some of the causes of anemia. Given below are some symptoms which an anemic person often displays.

If you are anemic, then you will frequently feel tired, fatigued and weak. The body lacks stamina and energy and gets tired frequently. Such people lack the energy to do any strenuous physical activity.

They even lack the energy to perform simple tasks of the day as they lack the required hemoglobin in the body.

Along with weakness and tiredness, an anemic person is pale and weak. Paleness is one of the main symptoms of anemia as the person affected has a pale and yellowish complexion due to lack of blood in the body. The eyelids of such people fades in color and their nails too display a pale color.

Other symptoms associated with anemia include heart palpitation and shortness of breath often caused by weakness. Since the anemic person is weak, he often complains of symptoms like dizziness and headache.

An anemic person also faces difficulty concentrating on things and he might be affected by disrupted sleeps. In addition, headaches and abnormal menstruation are some other symptoms of anemia.

In severe cases of anemia, the affected person can complain of chest pain which can be acute and also of low blood pressure. Anemia caused by lack of Vitamin B12 in the body can lead to other symptoms like numbness, jaundice and some psychological problems like depression and mood swings.

Understand the various signs and symptoms of anemia so that you can recognize the problem on time and get a timely treatment for it.
