Swine Flu: Symptoms and Preventive Tips
Swine flu is one of the most talked about topic today. Newspapers are reporting a gradual increase in the number of people affected by swine flu. This in turn has raised an alarm and it is essential to have proper information on swine flu so as to prevent it.
This article will throw light on some symptoms associated with swine flu and will also provide some tips through which you can prevent yourself from getting infected by this dangerous flu.
The symptoms of swine flu are like any other flu. Swine flu is primarily characterized by fever, cough, cold, sneezing, sore throat, body ache, fatigue and even diarrhea and vomiting in some cases. If you find yourself showing these symptoms, then you must get yourself checked.
After having looked at the symptoms of swine flu, let’s look at ways by which you can prevent this flu from disrupting your healthy life. The basic preventive step demands that you avoid contact with an infected person. Stay away from him as swine flu can spread through coughs, sneezes and through talking.
Wash your hands at regular intervals, especially if you have come from outside. This is because flu viruses can live on objects like table and door knobs for a long time and if you touch an infected object, then there are chances of your catching this flu. Thus, it is essential that you avoid public places and also wash your hands at regular intervals.
Boosting your immune system will help in increasing your resistance power against swine flu. For that, you should get adequate sleep and you also need to have a nutritious diet that enhances your immune system.
It is also important that you reduce your alcohol intake as that can weaken your body’s defense mechanism.
Follow the above given tips to effectively prevent yourself from getting infected by swine flu.
