Sumptuous snack dishes-read them

November 29, 2008

Here are some sumptuous and crazy snacks recipes written below-just have a look on them!

Dhokla
Ingredients:

1 large cup gram flour, ¾ tbsp rawa, 3 tsp oil, 6 tsp sugar, 2 tsp eno (lime flavor), juice of one lemon, 1 tbsp curd, 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp jeera seeds, 1 pinch asafetida, 1 ½ glass water, 1tbsp ginger-garlic paste, salt to taste

Method:
Mix curd with gram flour, cover and keep overnight. In a large kadhai, heat one glass of water. place a stand in the kadhai and place the batter on top of it in a smaller kadhai. add ginger-garlic paste, rawa, sugar, salt, and let water come to a boil. now add eno and lemon juice. immediately, whisk the batter in one direction till soft peaks appear. quickly transfer this into a deep thali and place it back on the stand in the kadhai.
Cover the kadhai and let it cook for 20 minutes. Remove and let it cool completely. In another kadhai, heat oil and add mustard, jeera and asafetida. When the mustard begins to crackle, pour a glass of water in the kadhai and heat for another minute. Now cut the dhokla into pieces and pour the oil and water mixture over it. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with green mint chutney.
Note: overnight fermentation will ensure that the dhokla turns soft. Mixing eno and lime will make the dhoklas flurry. The mixture of water and oil will keep dhoklas fresh and moist for five to six hours.
