Suffering From Irritable Bowel Syndrome? Read This!
Hey girls and guys do you often suffer from the tummy aches that take wind out of your sails leaving you feeling irritable, depressed and sleepless? Well in that case you should look at the matter with much more seriousness. Cramps in the tummy on regular basis can be a sure shot sign of irritable bowel syndrome.
IBS is functional bowel disorder characterized by mild to severe abdominal pain, discomfort and bloating in the stomach, diarrhea or constipation and alteration of bowel habits. This is also known as spastic colon. IBS do not permanently cause harm to your intestine. You can control this problem by incorporating the right kind of diet in your lifestyle, managing stress factor and through right medicine regime.
Though there is no specific reason for this problem but large intestine and sensitive colon can often result into IBS. Some of the major signs that can help you to detect IBS are irritation in large intestine, bleeding or spotting in the stool, recent changes in bowel habits, loose motions 10-12 weeks in a year, getting up in the middle of the night to go to the washroom, reoccurring tummy aches, significant weight loss in a very short span of time, depression stress and anxiety.
You will be surprised to read that stress can stimulate colon spasms in people suffering from IBS. It happens because the colon has several nerves that are connected with the brain. These nerves control the contraction of colon and cause abdominal comfort when we are stressed.
Therefore it is very much important for us to deal with stress factor. For treating stress, stress reduction training and relaxation therapies such as meditation in conjunction with medical aid can be incorporated in your lifestyle. You can include regular exercises such as yoga and walking for keeping the stress at bay.
