Style solutions for women

September 17, 2008

Legs are tricky territory when it comes to dressing and it really needs to be handled with care. No matter how hot shorts look, but it certainly does not suit all body types. Same goes with skirts and stockings. So, it is very important that you plan the length of your attire depending on your legs. Here are some style solutions, just read it out!

Women who are shorter in height should choose between extremes. mid-length skirt or Bermuda –pants will cut the length and give the illusion of being shorter. So opt for hot pants or long slender ones, but never three-fourths. Also, make sure that the cut is fitted and not baggy. Remember that anything that highlights your leg will make you look taller. Stick to colors like white, blacks, khakis and blues.

Tall women have a privilege of getting away with any length of pants or skirts. These days, the 70’s calf-length look is very in and tall women carry it the best. But tall women should not go for shorts that end up a little above the knees. Color wise, tall women can go for beige, taupe, whites, creams, greens and teals.

Women with chunky thighs and calves too need a bit of camouflage. They can always wear pants and skirts that ends below the knees. Remember that knee-length pants highlight the thigh by sticking to them, drawing the eye to heavy calves. Same is the case with fitted knee-length skirts. So make sure to avoid both these items. Go for lighter, flowing fabric especially cotton, as they work best for your body type. Avoid polyesters and knits.

Legging lovers can go for dark colors like wine, plump and black. If our leg is athletic and well-toned and the only hitch is the ankle area, then show more leg and divert the attention from that part. Wear hot-shorts or mini-skirts. Other way to hide the ankle is by wearing funky socks. Mid-length socks are the most fashionable accessory these days. So, get a one for yourself.
