Style solutions for plus size women

August 12, 2008

No doubt, shopping for plus size takes up a lot of time and quite often you find yourself buying either the wrong size that ill-fit you or something that doesn’t suits you. here are some style tips for plus size women ranging from fabrics, silhouettes, fashion accessories etc, just go through this and check what really suits you.

Go for darker rich colors in clothing like maroon, teak brown, sap green etc. such color give depth to the personality. Go for solid colors and minimal prints.

Invest in trousers that are slimmer at the waist and thighs with a slight of boot cut below. The flare below shifts the attention from hips to legs and balances the silhouette and gives a slimmer and softer look.

Completely avoid shoulder pads, puff sleeves, higher necklines and high collars that add to a broader silhouette. Instead go for plunging necklines, V-neck and boat necks with neat edges and no ruffles or ruche along the necklines.

Choose those top and kurtas that end about four inches below the broadest part of the body to give an accentuated smart look with a straight silhouette.

You can pair light colored tops in bright colorful prints with lowers in dark solid colors with slim shawls.

Choose the light material fabrics like chiffon, georgette, silk etc. that can drape around your body. Lighter fabrics are easier to manage and they beautifully follow the curves of your body too.

Glitter is one thing you should avoid from the voluminous areas as they reflect lot of light and exaggerate your body structure too.

Wear dark or soft colored salwaar kameez with straight fit salwars instead of churidaars for smart gorgeous look.

Remember that vertical narrow strips would be a magic wand to create the illusion of a slimmer fit, so go for them.
