The way towards a longer, happy and a healthy life is through the consumption of a nutritious diet and nothing fits in better than the intake of sprouts which have for long been regarded as a complete “health food”. In addition, sprouts like alfalfa, radish, broccoli, clover and soybean also have curative ability as they can help to protect and cure various diseases like pancreatic colon, cancers, diabetes and others.
Women can enhance their health by the intake of sprouts as studies have revealed that sprouts contain abundant quantity of plant estrogens which in turn help to control hot flashes, menopause, PMS (Pre Menstrual Syndrome) and fibrocystic breast tumors in women. In addition, they help in increasing the formation and density of bones and thus prevent bone breakage and osteoporosis. Flaxseeds have been studied for its beneficial protective effect on women’s health. Being rich in lignans, they help in protection against breast cancer. Moreover, it helps in promoting normal ovulation which thereby leads to the restoration of hormonal balance. Preliminary research also suggests that flaxseeds play a role in protecting post-menopausal women from cardiovascular disorders.
Being baby plants in their prime, sprouts have a greater concentration of vitamins and minerals, proteins, enzymes, anti-oxidants, nitrosamines, trace minerals, bioflavonoid and chemo-protectants which work against toxins, resist cell mutation and invigorate the body’s immune system. Moreover, they are easily digestible as being baby plants, their delicate cell walls can easily release elemental nutrients and with the presence of abundant enzymes, they become easy to digest even for those with a weak digestive system. Moreover, they also contain highly active antioxidants which prevent DNA destruction and thus protect people from the ongoing effects of aging. Sprouts literally are super foods to build health and they are also referred as ‘Living foods’ because even when one harvests sprouts or refrigerates them, they continue to grow slowly with a gradual increase in their vitamin content. Hence, a daily intake of sprouts can actually lead to a sprouting of one’s health and life.
