The Art of Living
In a fast moving and a fragmented kind of existence, ‘Art of Living’, a course by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, comes as a fresh leash of life which aims towards a holistic mode of existence. As a renowned humanitarian, Sri Ravi Shankar has enlightened the world with his universal messages of “peace, love and service” to all. His course on the ‘Art of Living’ aims at achieving a harmonious relationship between one’s inner experiences and outer world, thereby filling up the spiritual void which had crept in one’s mechanical mode of existence. He emphasizes on the difference between ‘existing’ and ‘living’ and more importantly living with a peaceful and a spiritual union with the higher energies of the universe.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar introduced a practice called the Sudarshan Kriya which helps a man to move beyond the superficial layers of worldly induced thoughts and feelings to a higher realm of understanding one’s True Self. This art is based on a rhythmical breathing process aiming at the betterment of both body and soul. On the working of Sudarshan Kriya, Ravi Shankar himself had emphasized on the importance of breathing by building up a relationship between the rhythmic process of nature as seen in the cycles of seasons and the patterns of one’s breath. According to him “in Sudarshan Kriya, we get into the rhythm of our being and see how our being is permeating our emotions and our thoughts…” Moreover, this kind of kriya also helps in silencing one’s inner turmoil by involving certain yogic asanas, meditation techniques and prananyama which ultimately leads to the attainment of one’s pure consciousness.
The workshop on the ‘Art of Living’ is a fulfilling experience for both men and women as it provides a value-based framework to life by including physical and spiritual healing powers. Along with providing a spiritual reunion with the higher energies of universe, this workshop also provides benefits of stress reduction, resurgence of vitality and most importantly a simple joy of living.
