Some tasty soup recipes
Hey all you calorie conscious people, here are some great recipes of soups just for you so check them out and prepare in your kitchen at least once. Trust me; these soups are not only low in calories but also full of lot of nutrition and taste. I am sure not only the adults, but also little ones in your family would love them!
Carrot, potatoes and celery chowder
Ingredients:
100 gm butter, 1 finely chopped onion, 2 cup diced potatoes, ½ cup finely chopped celery, 3 cups water, 1 tsp paprika, salt and pepper to taste, 2 cups milk, 1 tsp chopped parsley, 2 cooked and crushed carrots, extra paprika
Method:
Melt the butter and brown the onion. Add the potatoes, celery and the water, cook until the vegetables are tender. Add the paprika and season with salt and pepper. Blend the flour with a little of the milk. Add the rest of the milk and stir into the vegetables. Heat through, stirring all the time until the soup thickens. Add the parsley and the carrots, cook 15 minutes longer. Adjust the seasoning. Serve garnished with a fine sprinkling of paprika.
Spicy bean and tomato soup
Ingredients:
1 teacup cooked rajma, 1kg tomatoes, 2 finely chopped onions, 3 clove crushed garlic, a bit of ajwain, 4 tbsp boiled macaroni or noodles, ½ tsp chili powder, ½ tsp sugar, 2 tbsp oil, salt and chili powder to taste, grated cheese to serve
Method:
Chop the tomatoes. Heat the oil and deep fry the onion and crushed garlic for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook for 1 minute. Add 6 teacups of water and cook until the onions are soft. Blend the mixture in a liquidizer. Strain. Add the rajma, macaroni, chili powder, sugar, salt and pepper. Serve hot with grated cheese.
