Skin Care for Oily Skin
Oily skin is caused by over productive sebaceous glands which provide the skin with a greasy shine. Though your skin shines, it does not reflect a healthy shine because that shine has a greasy and an oily look. One needs to take utmost care of one’s oily skin so as to prevent skin eruptions like blackheads and pimples. There are some simple and natural methods which can help your skin to shine with health.
The basic requirement to keep your oily skin clean and healthy is by following a regular cleansing ritual which involves washing of one’s face at least twice a day with mild medicated soap so as to remove dead cells and excess of oil and dirt which blocks one’s pores. Since the pores of oily skin are more likely to get clogged, they need frequent washing so as to keep them fresh and open. However, one should avoid using harsh products which strip the skin of its natural oil as this can lead to a reverse phenomenon in which oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils.
Choosing cleansers and soaps with artificial contents can harm any kind of skin. Thus, one should strictly avoid using heavy cleansing creams and can instead opt for antibacterial cleansing lotion or a lightly medicated soap so as to get rid of unwanted polluted dust which generally gets attracted towards an oily skin. After cleaning, one can apply astringent so as to tighten and tone the enlarged pores of the skin.
There are also some simple home made cosmetic treatments available for oily skins. One can make a cleaning scrub at home by mixing quarter cup each of Fullers earth, dried orange peel and 2 tablespoons of oatmeal or sandalwood powder. Mix this mixture with water and massage it on skin before rinsing it off with warm water. In addition, cucumber juice or cabbage mixed with rose water can act as an excellent toner for oily skins. One can follow these simple and natural means to attain a skin with shines not because of oil or grease but instead which shines with health.
