Signs Your Child is Being Bullied

bullyingIs your child being bullied? There are various ways by which your child can be bullied by his peers; he can be bullied physically, emotionally, psychologically, and even sexually.

This in turn hampers his overall growth and development. This article will provide ways by which you can find out if your child is being bullied or not.

As mentioned above, there are various ways by which your child can be bullied- he can be hit, punched, kicked, teased, called by different names, harassed and even socially excluded and boycotted.

Usually a child who is being bullied does not inform his parents about his condition. However, such children start losing confidence and there is a fear that enters their mind. In addition, bullying can make the child fall into depression, develop stress syndromes, and even suffer from behavioral changes.

A bullied child needs your help and as a parent, you should look out for the below given signs to find out if your child is being bullied and harassed by others.

If you find bruises on your child’s body, then you must try to find out the cause of it. In addition, a bullied child can show symptoms like bed wetting, depression, improper sleep, stomach upset, headaches and disinterest in going to school.

A child who is bullied seems to stay withdrawn from others. In addition, such children are unable to concentrate on their studies and they fear the very thought of going to school. If you see such symptoms in your child, you must take some steps to prevent him from being bullied by his peers.

As a parent, you must take interest in your child’s activities. Have daily conversation with your child regarding how his day at school went. In addition, you must be aware of the kinds of friends your child has.

Also, ask him if he feels happy with his school and friends. You need to become your child’s friend and gain his confidence to ensure your child shares his troubles and problems with you.
