One of the first signs of labor might be a sensation that the baby is sitting deeper into your pelvis. This process is known as lightening and you can also notice some space between your breast and abdomen. This new position of the baby will put more pressure on your bladder and thus you might be visiting the bathroom more frequently. You can also find your legs and feet swelling and feeling sore putting restriction on your movement. Contractions are the most common symptom depicting labor. You should keep a track of the intensity, duration and frequency of these contractions. True contractions last for more than 30 seconds at first and then get progressively longer.

However, false contractions vary in length and intensity. Thus, keeping a check on your contractions can help. If your labor pain continues to come at five minute intervals, then it may imply the nearness of due date. Another symptom of your going into labor pain is that of back pain.
