Self care tips for this winter season

Winter is truly here now. Winter can make your skin turn flaky and dry or cause chapped lips and you may end up showing the signs of depression. So don’t be disheartened or become a couch potato gorging onvariety of high calorie stuff. Stead just become a little more smarter and read out some self -care tips for this winter season for your benefit.

Certainly dry air of winters can make your skin dry, flaky and scratchy. Also it can chap your lips and develop cracks in your soles. For avoiding such a situation, make use of soups containing glycerin, Vaseline, vitamin E oil, lanolin, milk or honey as they help in retaining the moisture of your skin. It has been proved that a pinch of baking soda in your bathing water can help in soothing the winter itching. So, try it out! Make sure you drink plenty of water in winters to retain the shine on your skin. Whenever you move out, don’t forget to apply sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays.

Avoid eating fried foods, bakery items, cakes, pastries, candies and sweets in winter season. Instead gorge on soups, fruits, vegetables and plenty of liquids like green tea, juices hot chocolate, smoothies, broths etc. increase your intake of carbohydrate rich foodstuff in your diet like pastas, rice, potatoes etc as these foodstuffs help in raising serotonin, a chemical neurotransmitter in the brain which helps in improving and enhancing your mood. Also don’t forget to take a good night sleep. Also eat food rich in vitamin A, B1 and B12 as they help in keeping your skin in healthy way.

Indulge yourself in various exercises like jogging; walking, swimming etc. remember that jogging, aerobics, yoga keeps you in good shape.
