Getting your arms, back or front tattooed with cool and funky images might look stylish and trendy. However, one needs to remove the false veil of appearance and look at the underlying truth which shows nothing but a dark shadow slowly overshadowing your healthy life. This is because the art or craze of getting oneself tattooed has various health hazards associated with it. In an attempt to enhance one’s image by falling for exotic tattoos, one often neglects the complications and problems which come along with this whole process of tattooing. These complications primarily include skin infections, allergies and tattoo tingles amongst others. An important concern regarding one’s health arises due to the increasing use of pigments and diluents which are being used in tattoos and which in turn can lead to various skin infections.
Tattoos have a huge potential to cause harm to one’s skin. This is because they are imprinted on the skin through the use of a tattoo gun which is similar to a sewing machine. The needle pierces the skin and thereby breaches the primary defense of the skin and makes it susceptible to various attacks. Moreover, if the needles turn out to be contaminated, one runs the risk of catching various infections and diseases like hepatitis and HIV which can literally cripple the happy life of a person.
People with sensitive skin can also develop various allergies due to the pigments being used in tattoos. There are also tattoos available which glow in dark or when exposed to black light. While some of these pigments may be safe, there is a possibility that such pigments may be toxic and even radioactive. Allergic reactions can also occur when metals are put into tattoo inks. Skin infections, psoriasis, dermatitis and other chronic skin conditions have been associated with the application of tattoos. In addition, it has been found that MRI of people with tattooed body becomes extremely difficult due to the insertion of metal particles in a body. If the whole process of tattooing can put you at a risk of so many allergies and problems, one really needs to think and set one’s priorities right as one needs to make a right choice between style and health. Getting your body pierced and tattooed is not the only way of looking cool and happening. To look cool and trendy, one needs to possess a right attitude and that does not involve the sacrificing of one’s health.
