Reasons for overeating and ways to avoid them
Don’t we all overeat at some point or another? At times, we eat out of celebrations, or when we feel stressful after a hard working day. But, keep in mind that if we do not put a halt on this bad eating habit, it can cause a big trouble to our health. So, here are some of the reasons for overeating along with ways to avoid them.
When you are feeling low, indulging in a dark chocolate is only a temporary solution because overindulgence in it can raise your blood sugar level. Uncontrollable eating can make you feel miserable as you begin to loathe yourself for not having enough self-control. The better solution for cheering yourself is – tackling the situation nicely and firmly. Just work out that problem and then opt for some mood boosters. You can go for slow-releasing carbs like khichdi, whole meal bread and pulses and vibrantly colored fruit and vegetables. Believe it, they will not only provide you a feel good factor but are also low in fat content.
Boredom drives many of us to overeating during the evening or by the end of a busy day. So, mind it. Try to keep yourself stimulated with activities other than eating. You can simply call a friend, write an e-mail, or go for a mild walk.
Undoubtedly you have family to look after, office targets to achieve and million of other things to take care. When Stress takes its toll on you, in such a scenario you indulge into bingeing just to keep yourself away from such things for some time. Remember a great workout can work wonders for you in fighting against the stress. So, next time you feel stressed out go for a brisk walk instead of feeding yourself with biscuits. Slow releasing carbs are also good stress busters. Just go for moderate portion of breads, pastas or rice and chill out.
