The success of an organization very largely depends upon the kind of leaders it possesses as they have the ability to organize resources for a productive output. There are various key qualities which a leader must possess to be successful. Given below are such important and distinguishable qualities associated with a good leader.
A good leader is easily distinguishable by being a role model. Instead of just teaching, a good leader preaches and leads by example. If you come late and expect discipline from your team members, then you can never be a good leader. Leadership is not about exhibiting authority, it is about channelizing resources effectively for a fruitful and productive result.
A good leader never demands respect, but earns it. You should have the strength of character and personality to be respected and loved by everyone. A good leader is confident and sure about himself and his work. If the leader is indecisive, then the team and organization on the whole will have to bear the negative consequences. A good leader is one who has a clear vision about his and the company’s future. A good leader needs to be a source of inspiration and a binding force that helps in creating a positive atmosphere. You need to be able to effectively bind your ream members as a united group.
However, you also need to ensure that the individuality of your members is not suppressed. Resolving conflicts in a team, infusing positivity and enthusiasm are all qualities which a good leader exhibits. Most importantly, having a professional approach, being unbiased and possessing qualities of honesty, integrity and dedication are a must in a leader. Lastly, a good leader is clearly distinguishable as he takes his work not just as a mere profession but instead as a passion.
