Certainly we all are pre-programmed to have children after the marriage. Having a family is natural. But before you plan to start up your family it’s very important for you to list out the pros and cons and balance your instincts with practical points for conceiving a child.

Before thinking to have a baby, be sure that your home is suitable for children. If it’s a one-bedroom studio flat, then certainly you might have to consider trading up first. Check out how far you’re home from schools and other facilities that you’ll need.

Many people think that having children can repair an ailing relationship but they fail to realize that this doesn’t work for everyone. So before conceiving a child, make sure you ask each other that whether you are ready to commit to perhaps 20 years together as parents. It’s a big question that can affect your life in a big way.

If you are really enjoying life, have a great job and a full social life, a baby might change things more than you’d like. So think well before constructing your decision of having a child. Take as much as time you want and remember it’s not selfish to remain childless, it’s your personal choice an nothing else.

Some people decide to remain childless because they might potentially pass on some genetic condition. If this is you, take professional advice before committing yourself either way.
