Physical Effects of Alcohol
All of us have heard about various ill effects of alcohol consumption but still there are people who tend to indulge in this unhealthy habit. You might experience temporary relief and even delight after consuming alcohol but its long term effects can literally deteriorate your life. Given below are various physical effects of alcohol and the reason why you should avoid treading this path of self destruction.
Alcohol is one of the prime trigger of various incidents of road rage and road accidents. It affects your physical as well as emotional and psychological self thereby detaching you from your social and moral responsibilities. The reason why drinking is strictly prohibited while driving is because the former leads to loss of muscle control. Impaired judgment and poor coordination are short term physical effects of alcohol. When a person loses control over himself, he tends to indulge in unacceptable behavior and activities. Moreover, such people also face problem with speech when they are drunk as their speech is slurred. In addition, the drunk man also faces from blackouts.
This temporary loss of memory is one of the most common short term physical effects of alcohol consumption. Nausea and vomiting are other physical side effects accompanied by drinking. Similarly, headaches and hangovers are very common. Along with these short term physical effects, prolonged alcohol consumption can lead to serious consequences. Over the long run of time, alcohol consumption can lead to cancer and even coma.
Excess of alcohol consumption can damage the liver thereby leading to cirrhosis, liver failure and even coma and death. Many of us are aware that alcohol harms liver but many of us are still unaware of the ill effects of alcohol on the cardiovascular system. Physical effects of alcohol consumption can also be witnessed in the form of heart failures, chronic inflammation of the stomach and also erectile dysfunction.
