cholesterolfoodHigh cholesterol levels in the body are an open invitation to unwanted troubles like heart ailments, strokes and others. To remain healthy and fit, you need to keep your cholesterol levels under check.

This article will provide some helpful tips by which you can naturally lower down your cholesterol and in turn keep your heart healthy and fit.

Healthy diet and regular exercise are two keywords that can help you lower your cholesterol. If you eat oily and fatty food items, then you are only increasing your cholesterol and making yourself vulnerable to various cardiovascular disorders.

To naturally lower your cholesterol levels, you need to keep a check on your diet. Eat a healthy diet which contains plenty of fruits and vegetables.

We have often heard that oils are the prime causes for high cholesterol. However, all kinds of oil are not your heart’s enemy. Monounsaturated oils like those of olive and avocados can actually help in increasing the level of HDL in your body along with reducing the level of the harmful LDL.

Wholegrain food products are also helpful for your heart. In addition, you should drink fresh fruit juices, especially those of orange, cranberry and gapes as they help in naturally lowering your cholesterol levels.

According to research, garlic can help in keeping your cholesterol levels under control. Thus, if you have high cholesterol, then you must consume garlic via diet and you can also take garlic supplements if needed.

In addition to the above tips, you must try to include oatmeal in your diet as they are known to naturally reduce the levels of harmful cholesterol in the body. You must also avoid excessive intake of caffeinated drinks.

Along with the above given tips, you must indulge in regular exercise to reduce your cholesterol and to enhance your overall health.
