November 11, 2008

How many times do you go close to somebody to only make that person move away from you as soon as you start talking? Bad breath is not only a cause of social embarrassment but it is also unhealthy. While transient bad breath is temporary and is caused by eating certain bad smelly items like onions or garlic, poor oral hygiene or due to body imbalances caused by dehydration, chronic bad breath is most often caused by bacteria or gum disease. If you want to naturally regain back your confidence and self-esteem through fresh and healthy breath, try the given below natural methods.

The first and basic way of ensuring fresh breath is to follow proper oral hygiene. Brush your teeth after every meal and floss at least once a day. Be sure to also brush your entire tongue, all the way toward the back of your mouth, which is often the source of really smelly breath. You should also drink plenty of water as it prevents your mouth from getting dry which can lead to bad breath. You can also try mouth rinses and especially useful are the ones which contain cholerhexidine, zinc gluconate and chlorine dioxide.  Moreover, dehydration of body is another cause for origin of bad breath. Improve your diet. This primarily implies temporarily avoiding onions, garlic or alcohol to lessen the bad smell. Drink unsweetened green tea as that helps in providing you with a fresh and healthy breath. Chewing on a sprig of parsley also helps to absorb the substances that create the lack of freshness in your mouth. In addition, parsley is also good for the overall health of your body.
