Natural ways of treating Cough
Tired and fed up of cough and aching throat? Don’t worry. There are natural and herbal ways of freeing you from the irritable problem of cough without any harm or risk of side-effects. Cough is a form of natural reflex which is done to expel any irritant from the respiratory tract. Cough is something which happens to everybody sometime or the other and it is a problem which can be effectively treated with the help of herbal remedies.
To effectively treat cough at home, one should boil 1 teaspoon of Mint leaves, 1 teaspoon of Rosemary leaves in 250 ml of water. Stir and strain this mixture and drink it along with 2 teaspoons of honey to get rid of cough within a week. Leaves of Betel also help in the effective healing of cough. Its preparation requires crushing the leaves and adding water to it until it becomes a paste. This paste is then to be applied on the chest area to cure cough and other bronchial problems. Garlic has real healing powers and is particularly effective for treating the problem of cough. To get rid of whooping cough, one should take 2-3 small garlic pieces daily. In addition, extracted juice of ginger when taken with honey can provide a soothing effect on one’s aching throat. Natural and herbal elements like ginger, turmeric, tulsi and most importantly honey play an effective and an important role in treating problems related to cough or bronchial ailments.
Cough can also be caused due to other reasons like smoking, allergy, acid reflux and flu amongst others. One should try to quit smoking to prevent cough and other lung related problems. in addition, staying close to a smoking person can also harm you as you in a way become a passive smoker and thus become prone to problems like cough and respiratory disorders. During sleeping, one should keep one’s head elevated so as to prevent cough which is caused due to acid reflux.
Simple natural and home made remedies can help in the effective treatment of the problem of cough.
