Myths related with acidity. Let’s bust them!

Chew your food well! Don’t gobble your food! Eat properly! These are only few advices that you hear every now and then from your elders whenever you sit down to have your food. Undoubtedly eating in hurry, eating more food than you really need and feeding yourself with whole loota junk can cause you an acidity problem. But it is very important that you separate the various myths related with acidity from original facts. So, just have a look!

Often it is told that pregnant women should eat a stale chapatti in the morning to keep the acidity problem at bay. But is it really true? Not really! Mind it, that a chapatti doesn’t change its nature overnight. So, there’s no proof that eating a stale chapatti can relive you from acidity problem.

Does drinking fruit juices really counter acidity problem? No! In fact the truth is that such juices really aggravate the problem, just like any sour thing will.

It is often said that acidity makes the various bodily gases to enter into various parts of the body. But trust me, there’s no such evidence to prove this.

Do you have a notion that even an allergy can cause acidity? Then remember that allergy and acidity are two different things. They are poles apart. There exists no such link or direct relation between the two.

Make sure you avoid eating flour-based items and non-vegetarian stuff to keep the acidity at bay. Reduce the intake of cashew nuts, yoghurt, tomato, tea with milk and pickles in your diet for treating acidity. Stay away from spicy and fatty foods. Have regular meals. Don’t stay hungry for long hours. Ensure a gap of three hours between dinner and your bedtime. Most important follow a sedentary lifestyle.
