More for your eyes! Read on

July 11, 2008

Contact lenses have become quite popular these days and have replaced your old boring spectacles. But we don’t blame you for this. After all, guys don’t make passes at girls who wear glasses and vice versa. Though the contact lenses, available in various shades too have made their own fashion statement in the world over but still there are some myths associated with them. It’s high time now, let’s debunk these myths and torch some light on the facts!

Often people say that the contact lenses are difficult to wear and cause uneasiness in eyes. This do not hold true. The material of new-gen soft lenses makes them soft, thin thus very easy to wear.

You must have heard couple of times when your grandma says: the lens will hurt your eyes. But believe me they are the safest vision correction device that have been clinically tested. The lenses are very flexible and they can never crack in eyes and damage them. They cannot hurt eyes as there are no sharp edges attached to them.

Worried about what you will do if lenses fall out of your eyes. This is just a myth. Soft lenses are so thin in nature that they adhere to eye using natural tear film. Sportsmen from various fields like cricket, baseball, volleyball, long tennis have been wearing them and they play their sports without any difficulty and fear. They swear by them.

Thinking that soft lenses make you to blink your eyes more often? Trust me even there’s no truth in this statement too. It has been proved by healthcare experts that there lies no connection between wearing contact lenses and eyes blinking. Your eyes blink only when they gets dry, irrespective of the fact whether you wearing lenses or not.
