In the modern world where women have to handle career along with their household responsibilities, they are likely to suffer from stress which is both physical as well as emotional. Stress in itself can be a silent killer and hence, one needs to adopt certain practices to combat this enemy which can lead to one’s self destruction. Meditation comes as the best solution for this problem as it helps to enrich one’s soul, alleviate stress and leads to a wholesome wellness of a person. Most importantly, it helps in the regaining of one’s inner peaceful self which often gets lost in the hustle and bustle of life.
Though meditation is largely recognized for its spiritual healing powers, it also has many health benefits. The yoga and meditation techniques help in reducing stress by bringing about physical and emotional relaxation. In addition, it helps in the increase of blood flow in the body which in turn brings about better concentration powers and an increase in self confidence. It also helps in the proper regulation of blood pressure and enhances the immune system thereby keeping the body fit and healthy.
Meditation is extremely beneficial for women as it gives her an opportunity to connect with her true inner self which is beyond the socially framed boundaries. This process of self discovery helps in boosting up one’s pride and self-esteem. In addition to the process of self liberation, meditation is also useful in treating various women related health disorders like Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) and infertility problems.
According to a survey, women struggling with infertility had much less anxiety and depression after following the process of meditation and it was found that 34% women became pregnant within six months of the 10-week meditation program. Meditation is also found helpful for pregnant women as it helps to put mothers in tune with their babies and also helps in reducing pregnancy related fear and anxiety.
Meditation thus should be made an important component of every woman’s life so that one can rejuvenate and rediscover oneself and live a healthy and a stress-free life.
