Manicure Nails at Home

November 13, 2008

In the daily rush of life, we often tend to neglect our hands and nails. However, you need to realize that your nails are always on a display whether at office place, party or anywhere. Moreover, they form an important part of daily hygiene and thus proper care and attention needs to be given to them. Given below are some tips which would help you achieve a perfect manicure at home.

The first step involves getting rid of any nail polish from your nails. This can be easily achieved with the help of a good nail-polish remover. Most of us face the problem of removing nail polish which gets stuck at the corners and cuticles. For that, you can use a cuticle stick and if you don’t possess that, then you can use an ear bud after soaking it in nail polish remover. Then you should soak the nails in lukewarm olive oil or water for a few minutes to make them soft. This helps in their easy cutting and shaping. You can then provide your nails with the desired shape with the help of a filer. The most popular shape is oval but one should use the shape which suits one the best. If hangnails are present, carefully clip them. You should apply lotion to your hands and massage them properly to moisturize them along with increasing circulation. After all these steps, comes the time of nail coloring. You first need to choose the most appropriate color you want to apply on your nails. First, apply the base coat on the nails, let it dry and then apply a second coat. When it gets dried, then apply the transparent coat to lock the color of the nails.

By following these simple steps, you can easily do a manicure at home to further beautify your nails and hands.
